Vintage Photos

I wanted to show you my vintage family photos that I did up for my mom, dad and my aunt.  I was going to do my grandmother's picture for my mom for mother's day, but it turned out so well, I just couldn't wait 2 months.  They're 8" x 8" canvas, and the stands to go with them.  I used hodge podge to glue the pics to the canvas, then used what I had for embellishing.
The couple below is my grandmother and her husband, Paul.  I did this one for my aunt for her birthday next week.

And then I did my nanny's picture for my dad (his mom in Essex, England)

Let me know what you think...I'm on a roll now!!!!

Top 10 LOVES

Well, I've been reading about how to get more traffic to your blog, and since this is a new blog...I'm determined to bring "followers" with me.  So, here is one of my lists of my 10 most favorite LOVES in life.
1.  Vintage...anything old, shabby, worn, cracked, chipped, antique or very well used!

2.  The PERFECT day...late summer, blue sky with no clouds, leaves just turning but still on the trees, not too hot, not too cold, just a warm light breeze - by the lake.

3.  Red licorace...I need to bridle my passion for this one...I could sit and eat the whole bag, so I don't buy it very often.

4.  Cherries...anything and everything...need I say more?

5.  Designing and making wall quilts.  I'm starting to use mix media merging with scrapbooking inspirations to do art wall quilts.  I'm really enjoying the journey.

6. My favorite time of day...Dusk.

7.  Being a Canadian.  I feel so blessed to live in Alberta, Canada.

8. Being at the lake.  As a kid, I was like a fish in water; you had to get a net to get me out of the lake.  There is something so peaceful about the water that I love.

9. Romantic movies, but they have to be a special romance, not just one of those chic flicks.  The story has to be sincer and deep...like Jane Eyer, Pride and Predjudice, or Sense and Sensability.

10. Making and creating things to share with others.
