Artist Spotlight - Cedar Lee

Happy Tuesday everyone....
today I wanted to introduce you to a wonderful painter. - Ceder Lee www.artbycedar.com .  She's a mom with 2 babies and loves to paint.  I love her choice of subject matter, color palette, and in essence, just how she paints.  She also has a few You Tube videos (one as presented below) that are great.  Cedar not only gives great advice to all of us artists out there, but she presents her work in time-lapse and I love her style!  Please visit her site/work....it's very beautiful.

Spotlight Artist - Susie LaFond "Gathering Up Bits of the World"

Another spotlight for you....Susie LaFond from "Gathering Up Bits of the World".  Her work is also shown in the Winter 2011 magazine ART JOURNALING by Somerset Studio.  Her work is so wonderful!  Susie uses textiles, text, collage, paint and other mixed media to express her lifes happenings, and very wonderfully might I add.  Visit her blog...you will not be disapointed.

Art Journaling is becoming an obsession of mine, so much so that I'm actually doing a presentation for my Gender Issues in Art & Art History class.  I'm so excited to present this artist venue to my instructor and classmates.  I hope I do really well, and in turn more awareness can be made for this wonderful expressive art.

Teesha Moore - Fabric and Art Journaling

More pictures are to come, however, I wanted to share a YouTube video that I came across when my Art2031A class was presented with our last assignment.  We had to make a book and make multiples of it (one for each student in the class including the instructor).

I came across Teesha Moore - an exteremly talented mixed media artist that does fabric/art journals.  She shows you how to make them step by step and I LOVE HER WORK!!  Just click on the YouTube video below and then follow it through to all of her works.  She also does art journals, and shows you how to make a 16 page journal with 1 sheet of 20" x 30" of watercolour paper, with backgrounds, boarders, and college.  I know what I'm doing this Christmas!!!
Check it out all of you "crafty sewers and artists" out there....you will not be disappointed.

Teesha Moore also has a website - http://www.teeshaslandofodd.com/1/temp.html
