Art 2032A Class Continued...

I promised more pictures and so here they are.  I completed my Cone, Cube & Sphere project in my 3-D Foundation class....and here are the pictures. (my cube & cone are on my earlier posts)

I did my sphere out of junk that no one throws away and it's kept in our junk drawers.  This one was a bit more difficult to glue, but I think it turned out great.

The first 2 pics are close-ups.  The rest you can see the whole thing.

Below are some of the works that my classmates did for this project....really cool!!

THE BELOW ARE CLOSE-UPS OF SOME OF THEM!

This sphere is made of clear plastic cups....looks really cool, like a chandelier.

This one is made of rocks.  It's not a pile of rocks, it is an actual hollow rock cube!

This cone is made from a towel, she cut it and wound it around itself....looks like a soft mountain.

This cube is made of a mirror.  Say cheese!!!

This cone is poker chips and playing cards.  I like how the cards look like their flying.

This sweet sphere is made from candy....ummmmm, Candy!!!

This cone is by the same candy artist as above, it's made out of cat hair.  She said she won't have to brush her kitty for months!

This is a cone made from wire, which has the cone, cube and sphere shaped wire already in it.

This beautiful sphere is, of course, paper umbrellas.

This one is so cool....the cone is 3 cassette tapes that he wrapped around a cone, and use the plastic cassette case as well.

NEXT....... I had to do an exhibit for my Women's Studies class on "The Hutterites".  Here is our board we did.  Turned out very well....was one of the best ones there, I thought! (yes, there is fake wheat at the top of the board...we were going for the farm life look)

LeAnne of Everyday Celebrations

I just had to tell you all about LeAnne and her Everyday Celebrations blog.  She is an AMAZING crafter!  Click on her banner and have fun....I just need to warn you, you'll be there awhile, so get something to sip and get comfy...cuz this girl rocks!!

Yesssss...!!!

I got some of my marks back and I did pretty good.  They are as follows:.....

Art History 1st mid-term - 90% = A
(I am so proud of myself.  I NEVER got an A in Art History when I was in college.  I did well because my teacher is super.  Tells us what he expects and how he wants things done - very clear and orderly instruction....he's great! - Oh, and of course Heavenly Father was answering sincere prayer!!!!!)

Anthropology 1st mid-term - 72% = B-
(this test was very ambiguous...I wasn't sure what he was looking for, but now that I know...I'll do better on the 2cd mid-term at the beginning of next month.)

Women Studies 1st Essay - 75% = B
(not too bad, since the last time I wrote an essay was in 1989 before I graduated from High School.  I'll do better on our 2cd essay due Nov 17)

I'm especially happy about my Art History.  I just wanted to share my excitement.  Keep on going, keep on going....keep on going!!!!

I should be putting up some of my pinhole camera pictures soon.  My prof has them right now and is marking them.  I should also have the last picture for my Cube/Cone/Sphere assignment.  The critique on those are next Wed.

I'll keep you posted!

Art 2032A Class

Hey All ~ it's me again.  I told you that I would post some pics and here are a few from my 3-D Foundation class.  The assignment was that we had to make 3 objects, a cone, a cube and a sphere using "found" objects.

The first one I did was the plastic food cone.  I really like how it turned out.

Below is another view of the food cone I did.

This was my lace cube.  I soaked an old lace table runner in white glue and water.  Then I drapped and pinned it over a foam cube shape.  I waited a few days for it to dry and then I dug out the foam cube and I got this.  I really, really like how this one turned out!

This week I'll be working on my sphere that is due next Wed.  I think I'll use jewellery....but that might be too heavy.  I'll keep you posted!

More Pictures to Come!!

I wrote my Art History 1st mid-term exam this past Tuesday and I find out tomorrow what I got.  It went pretty good.  I felt I knew all of the answers, but we'll see.  My Anthropology 1st mid-term exam was last Friday, and I'm not sure how I did on that one???  I know I got one of the questions wrong, because I looked it up in my notes after it was over.  DANG...there goes 4 points - Ughhhhh!!!!  We'll see how things turn out.

Wish me luck! :o)
