100 Theme Challenge - Digital Whisper

    




Hello All,

     I just thought I would share with you my first image for Digital Whisper 100 Theme Challenge.  One must create a digital work of art for each challenge before the end of the year.  This one is #21 - CAVE.

Let me know what y'all think.  I think my Digital Studio class this semester is really paying off!

10 Things I'm Thankful For

     I don't think we do enough "thanking" in our world today...so below are my top 10 - What I'm Thankful For List!  ~  Enjoy!

1.  I'm thankful for the opportunity to be going back to school.  At times it is hard...but I'm glad I get to give it one more go!

    2.  I'm thankful for my children.  They are so wonderful...I couldn't have asked for better kids to raise!

            3.  I'm thankful for my many talents.  I just love to create art, sing and use my hands to do what is in my head, and then of course share it with others.

4.  I'm thankful for my car.  Now this may seem a simple thing, but without my car....I can't do the things I really need to do.  I love you Little Blue!

    5.  I'm thankful for my membership and testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ.  I have absolutely no idea how people cope with the world today without Him!!

                 6.  I'm thankful for my health.  I know this a cliche...but it's true...I'm glad I can walk and not faint and run and not be weary.  (I'm not sure about doing stairs...but I try! :o)

  7.  I'm thankful for my parents.  They taught me right from wrong and have always been a tremendous strenght in my life.  I love you mommy and daddy!

       8.  I'm thankful for my country...I AM CANADIAN!!!  Need I say more?

                             9.  I'm thankful for people who inspire me to do my best and to be my best.

10.  I'm thankful for my bed.  Strange yes....silly even...but oh how I LOVE my bed.  It's so soft and comfy...especially when I have a great book to read!!  :o)
   

Art Journal Page - Save Me!

Did you ever have one of those cruddy days where you vent and give yourself a pep talk all at the same time?  I certainly did today.

I hate my Drawing I class....my instructor creates art using a ruler and "exactness"!!   She sucks the creativity and fun out of the wonderful journey of art making itself.  She's taught drawing for 15 years, but the unfortunate thing about it is that the student is always at the mercy of the bias of the instructor.  If they don't like your art....your mark can suffer!

I come away from her class feeling run over by a heavy weight, Olympic sized art critic that no matter what I do...my work will never satisfy.  I come away every class doubting my own creative processes, skill and talent.

Only a bit more time left to this semester, but I truly am struggling with this one.....SO I come home and delve into my art journaling and my creative juices are patched up temporarily until I go back and get another whack of criticism and dose of creative impudence.

Just an update for you:

1.  New blog look.
2.  Second semester isn't as great as my first was, but I'm givin' it my best!
3.  I hope to add some of my Art Journal pages.
4.  I hope to even do some paintings to sell.

All in the future of course....life moves on!
